ANKARA – The Tohumluk Foundation is proud to announce that its children’s book, Uzay Efeler Yolunda (Uzay on the Path of the Efes), has been selected by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism as part of its annual Public Library Book Acquisition Program.
Each year, the Ministry evaluates book submissions from publishers through an expert review committee. Selected titles are purchased and distributed to public libraries across Türkiye, making quality publications accessible to readers nationwide. Uzay Efeler Yolunda has successfully passed this rigorous evaluation process and will soon be available in libraries throughout the country.
This achievement represents more than the recognition of a children’s book; it is also an acknowledgment of a project that brings together children’s literature, cultural heritage, environmental awareness, and social responsibility.

A Journey Through Nature, Heritage, and Imagination
Written by Dr. Serra Menekay and Meltem Karabağ, and illustrated by Prof. Dr. Sühan Ayhan, Uzay Efeler Yolunda tells the story of a young boy named Uzay, whose unforgettable adventure along the historic Efeler Route becomes a journey of discovery, courage, and imagination.
Blending nature, folklore, wildlife, the stars, and mystery, the book invites young readers not only to explore the rich cultural landscape of Anatolia but also to embark on their own journey of curiosity and self-discovery.
Every Book Creates an Opportunity
What makes this publication even more meaningful is the commitment behind it.
The authors, Meltem Karabağ and Dr. Serra Menekay, together with Prof. Dr. Sühan Ayhan, have generously donated all of their royalty income from the book to the Tohumluk Foundation.
Through this initiative, every five copies purchased enable one child living in a rural community to receive the book free of charge, helping expand access to quality reading materials and promoting equal educational opportunities.
Reaching Thousands of Young Readers
Thanks to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s decision, Uzay Efeler Yolunda will soon reach thousands of children through Türkiye’s network of public libraries, introducing them to the country’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and the inspiring world of books.
The Tohumluk Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, our publishing partner, the authors, the illustrator, and everyone who contributed to bringing this meaningful project to life.
