Project Objectives
Tohumluk Foundation established Village Theatres based on the belief in the transformative power of the arts. Working together with children, young people and women living in rural communities, the Foundation created a platform where important social and environmental issues could be explored through theatre.
More than artistic productions, these community theatres serve as spaces for education, awareness, creativity and dialogue. By bringing people together on and beyond the stage, they strengthen self-confidence, encourage participation and foster meaningful connections within rural communities.

Performances
Tohumluk Vakfı gönüllüleri Dr. Serra Menekay ve Meltem Karabağ'ın birlikte yazdıkları kaleme aldığı ve sahneye koyduğu; “Dünyamızı Kurtaracağız”, “Dünyamız Her Şeyimiz” ve “Dünyamızın Mirası” adlı tiyatro oyunları, iklim krizi, çevre sorunları, kültürel miras, doğru tarım uygulamaları ve toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği gibi günümüzün kritik meselelerini köy halkıyla buluşturdu. Bu oyunlar; köylerde yaşayan çocukların, yetişkinlerin ve Genç Tohumluk Komitesi üyelerinin katılımıyla sahnelendi. Böylece tiyatro, sahne önünde ve arkasında toplumsal dayanışmayı güçlendiren bir platforma dönüştü.

Impact and Outcome
Tohumluk Village Theatres provide people living in rural communities with a platform to tell their own stories, celebrate their cultural identity and make their voices heard. At the same time, they remind every audience that creativity, learning and meaningful change flourish when people come together to create, share and inspire one another.
