BURSA – On 31 July 2026, the Tohumluk Foundation Bursa Volunteer Group organized a Beeswax Wrap Workshop in Elmaçukuru Village, Orhaneli, with the aim of promoting sustainable living and encouraging environmentally friendly alternatives to single-use plastics.

Held in the peaceful surroundings of the Uludağ region, the workshop introduced participants to the production of reusable beeswax food wraps, a natural alternative to disposable plastic food storage bags.

During the workshop, volunteers coated 100% cotton fabric with natural beeswax, creating reusable wraps that help preserve food while reducing plastic waste. Participants experienced each step of the process—from melting the beeswax to treating and drying the fabric—and learned how simple, traditional methods can contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle.

Beeswax wraps are suitable for storing fruits, vegetables, bread, cheese, and many other foods. Because they can be washed and reused many times, they significantly reduce single-use plastic consumption while providing a healthier, environmentally friendly option for food storage.

At the Tohumluk Foundation, we believe that sustainable living begins with everyday choices. By combining traditional knowledge with environmentally responsible practices, we aim to raise awareness, encourage local production, and inspire communities to adopt more sustainable habits.

More than a practical workshop, this event became a meaningful gathering where volunteers learned together, shared ideas, and demonstrated that small individual actions can create significant positive environmental impact.

We thank all of our Bursa volunteers who contributed to this initiative and look forward to developing new projects that encourage sustainable production, responsible consumption, and greater environmental awareness.

Protecting our planet begins with the choices we make every day.
