Preparing for Winter Together: Clothing Support for 37 Students in Mersin
MERSİN - At Tohumluk Foundation Mersin, we continue working to meet children’s essential needs and support their education. On October 13, 2026, a donation earmarked for this purpose by the Mersin Commodity Exchange enabled us to provide winter clothing essentials for 37 students from Karacailyas Demirhisar Primary School.
During our gathering at the Çetinkaya store in Mersin, we provided students with sweatshirts, shoes, and socks to help them prepare for the colder months. Our representatives and volunteers accompanied the children throughout the shopping visit, helping ensure their needs were met.
Taking part were our Mersin Deputy Provincial Representative Gökçe Uçak, Provincial Secretary Şeyda Atmaca, Social Assistance Committee Vice Chair Halil Delibaş, and volunteers Şehriban Doğru, Bilge Gür, Serap Has, and Meltem Döner. Their time and care were an important part of turning the donation into practical support for the students.
After shopping, we offered the children milk and cake. At the end of our time together, we saw them off to school with the gifts prepared for them.
Alongside addressing everyday needs, we want children to feel valued and supported. We recognize the importance of families, educators, volunteers, and supporting organizations working together to help children approach the future with confidence. We believe that a culture of solidarity that supports equal opportunities grows through collective responses to practical needs.
At Tohumluk Foundation, we see every child as a precious seed deserving of love, care, and protection. We hope that the attention and support offered today will help them look toward tomorrow with confidence.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Mersin Commodity Exchange and its President, Abdullah Özdemir, for making this initiative possible, and to our representatives and volunteers for accompanying the children. We will continue working together in Mersin to support children’s education and social well-being, respond to local needs, and strengthen community solidarity.
