KAYSERİ – At the Tohumluk Foundation, our work in rural communities goes far beyond implementing projects. We believe in building lasting connections between people and communities. With this vision, our Kayseri Provincial Coordinator Nilüfer Bıçakcıoğlu, together with volunteers Hayriye Boz and Nihal Hodul, visited Yahyalı to strengthen existing partnerships and lay the groundwork for new community initiatives.
The visit included meetings at the Yahyalı Women’s and Youth Center and the Yahyalı Public Education Center. During discussions with the Director of the Public Education Center, Hatice Yetişen, plans were initiated for a meaningful social responsibility project that will transform vocational training into social impact.
The Foundation aims to provide sewing materials—particularly fabric—to disadvantaged women attending courses at the Public Education Center. The women will produce tracksuits through their own craftsmanship, and these garments will later be donated to children attending rural schools. The project will create a meaningful bridge between women empowered through education and children in need.
The delegation also visited Kirazlı Village, where they met with the village head to introduce the Foundation’s work in education, culture, arts, and social solidarity. The meeting included discussions on potential future collaborations that could benefit the local community.
During the visit, two families were welcomed in their homes, where greetings, gifts, and support sent by friends and volunteers from the city were delivered. Beyond material assistance, these visits represented friendship, remembrance, and genuine human connection.
Yahyalı’s fertile countryside also welcomed the volunteers with its generous harvest. Fresh plums, cherries, vegetables, and seasonal fruits reflected both the richness of the land and the hospitality of its people.
At the Tohumluk Foundation, we believe that stronger communities are built by creating bridges between people. Alongside our educational, cultural, artistic, and social initiatives, we continue to carry friendship, solidarity, and hope from the cities to rural villages—and back again.
We returned from Yahyalı with full hands and full hearts.
Every visit strengthens another bond, every open door creates another bridge, and every shared moment helps hope grow a little further.
