Purpose of the Committee

In accordance with the Deed of Foundation, the Sports Committee works to ensure that people living in rural communities have access to sports and recreational activities and are encouraged to participate actively in them.

The Committee carries out its work in support of the Foundation’s objectives, including:

• Strengthening cultural, social and economic connections between rural and urban communities through sports, cultural and artistic activities.

• Organizing educational programmes and events that promote physical well-being, mental health, social inclusion and personal development through culture, science, arts and sports.

• Supporting the establishment and development of facilities such as schools, cultural centres, libraries, sports halls, sports fields, museums and other community spaces that contribute to the Foundation’s mission.

 

Committee Responsibilities

The Committee shall:

• Work closely with Committee Chairs and Provincial Representatives to identify schools and regions suitable for inclusion in the Foundation’s sports scholarship programmes.

• Prepare draft project proposals for fundraising campaigns supporting sports scholarships and submit them to the Board of Directors.

• Coordinate the application, implementation and reporting processes related to fundraising permits, as well as partnerships with Adım Adım, Açık Açık and related fundraising platforms and service providers.

• Recommend suitable fundraising events—such as running, swimming and triathlon competitions organized through the İyilik Peşinde Koş (Run for Good) platform and similar initiatives—for approval by the Board of Directors.

• Manage project submissions to fundraising platforms, monitor campaign progress, record donations received by credit card or bank transfer, and prepare final reports for the Board of Directors.

• Develop programmes that provide sports scholarships for children living in rural communities who have the motivation and talent to participate in sports but lack access to appropriate training or equipment.

• Coordinate, together with the Foundation’s management and relevant committees, the procurement and distribution of sports clothing, footwear, equipment and other resources required by scholarship recipients.

 

Committee Operations

The Sports Committee coordinates its activities through its official WhatsApp group.

The Committee meets at least once each month at the invitation of the Committee Chair. Meeting dates and agendas are shared in advance with Committee members and the Board of Directors.

Minutes of each meeting are prepared by the Committee Secretary and distributed to Committee members and the Board of Directors.

Committee decisions are adopted by a majority vote of members present.

The Committee develops annual work plans, assigns responsibilities among its members and carries out its activities in accordance with the Foundation’s strategic objectives and governance principles.
