Tohumluk Foundation İzmir Volunteers Visit the Gödence Agricultural Development Cooperative

İZMİR – On 22 June 2026, volunteers from the Tohumluk Foundation İzmir branch, accompanied by our Chairperson Pınar Ayhan, visited the Gödence Agricultural Development Cooperative, one of Seferihisar’s long-established centers of agricultural production.
Founded in 1972, the cooperative has become a leading example of rural development through its commitment to supporting local producers, fostering solidarity, and promoting sustainable agriculture. During the visit, our volunteers had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the cooperative’s successful model and its long-standing contribution to rural communities.
Cooperative representatives provided comprehensive information about their production processes, agricultural activities—particularly olive and olive oil production—their cooperative structure, and the experience they have accumulated over more than five decades. Discussions highlighted how a producer-centered cooperative model contributes to both the economic and social development of rural areas.
Throughout the visit, the Tohumluk Foundation team also introduced the Foundation’s initiatives in education, agriculture, environmental awareness, and rural development. Participants exchanged ideas on supporting agricultural production, preserving local values, and exploring future collaborative projects that could strengthen sustainable rural development.
