“From School to Life” Project Concludes with Hope and Celebration in Ödemiş

İZMİR – Tohumluk Foundation’s From School to Life Project, carried out at Ödemiş 3 Eylül Regional Boarding Secondary School, concluded successfully with a closing ceremony held on 17 June 2026.
The event brought together volunteers from Tohumluk Foundation’s İzmir Provincial Group, as well as Süleyman Güneş and Ahmet Turan Yüzük, Branch Directors of the Ödemiş District Directorate of National Education, who joined students, teachers and volunteers in celebrating the project’s achievements.
The programme began with a short documentary highlighting the educational activities, social programmes and personal development experiences that students had enjoyed throughout the project. The film reflected the journey of the participants and the meaningful impact the project had on their lives.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was the performance of Our World Is Everything, a children’s theatre production written by Dr. Serra Menekay, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, and Meltem Karabağ, Chair of the Volunteer Engagement Committee. Guided by teacher Ebru Köse, the students brought the play to life on stage, delivering a heartfelt performance that conveyed powerful messages about environmental awareness, shared responsibility and living in harmony with nature.
Following the performance, certificates were presented to the students and teachers who contributed to the production. To further encourage environmental awareness and an interest in agriculture, the students also received books on nature and sustainable farming.
The celebration concluded with music, dancing and joyful moments shared by students, teachers and volunteers.
As part of its commitment to supporting arts education, Tohumluk Foundation also donated a bağlama, the traditional Turkish stringed instrument, to the school’s music workshop, helping to enrich students’ artistic learning opportunities.
Throughout the From School to Life Project, students strengthened not only their academic knowledge but also their creativity, environmental awareness, appreciation of cultural values, teamwork and self-confidence. The project demonstrated the value of a holistic educational approach that nurtures children’s social, cultural and personal development alongside their formal education.
